My husband and I purchased a leather recliner during a President's Day Sale, February 14, 2015 for $4950.15 from the Largo MD location. Since that date, we have experienced numerous of problems with the furniture. The first problem was a padding problem with the left-arm recliner, which we noticed about nine months after purchase. Even though, we had purchased the warranty, we were denied coverage due to what they called was "normal wear-and-tear". We could not believe what they were telling us... just crazy. A second problem was a grinding noise with the right-arm-recliner. They sent a technician to repair that, but the technician was this scrawny guy who couldn't even turn over the chair to see underneath. He had to lie under the chair as it was reclined. Anyway, the technician reported that an additional part was needed to fix the repair. We were told that we would have to pay for the part that cost over $100 (it was not covered by the warranty). Instead of paying, my husband attempted to fix the problem himself and he was able to do it successfully. He was able to see what was grinding and straighten it. He was not able to see without turning the recliner completely up-side-down, which the Regency technician could not do.

The next problem, three years after purchase, was that the arm, back and seating areas started to fade. This totally caught us by surprise because after our initial inquiry about whether it would do that, the salesman assured us that we were buying 100% leather and that we would not have that to be concerned about, so we made the purchase. At that time, we did not know that we were making the purchase under false pretense. Again, we called the warranty company on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 to put in a claim and were told that fading was not covered under the warranty. We were told to call the store where we made the purchase and see if they could help us. So, merely three years after purchase, the furniture is looking like this. For the amount of money spent for this sectional, three years is far too soon for us to be thinking of buying another and just to think, $4950.15 was the sale price. And what's the purpose of buying warranty?

We have attempted reached out Regency corporate several times by letter and with pictures of the affected areas, and they continue to ignore us. Not even to acknowledge that they received anything. We have since contacted our lawyers and they too have been ignored. We will be working with them to see what we can do next.

This experience has left a very sour taste in our mouth and we will never ever do business with Regency furniture again. So, if you are considering doing purchasing furniture from this company, I advise you not to... do not purchase from Regency Furniture store... they are only out to make money and at whatever cost to the customer.
